JANUARY DCM/CONCLAVE ~ January 25, 2013 (9:30am-1:30pm)

On January 25, 2013, our Division elected our LTG for the upcoming Key Club year. Two delegates were sent from every club to vote for the LTG. Out of Gina Apinyavat from Simi Valley High School, Ryan Luong from Simi Valley High School, and Joseph Ko from Santa Susana High School, the delegates picked Joseph Ko as our D42E LTG Elect! All three candidates had amazing speeches are did a great job! This conclave allowed our members to experience the higher rungs of Key Club leadership and learn about the election proccess for LTG!

UCAAN Gift Wrap 4 a Cause ~ December 21, 2013 (9:00am-1:00pm)

At the Janss Marketplace on a Saturday Morning, we joined together with United Cancer Advocacy Action Network for Gift Wrap 4 a Cause. Some went into the Marketplace either near entrances or by Toys R Us with posters to advertise the event while others worked at the store next to Radio Shack to wrap gifts. We wrapped holiday gifts for a donation to UCAAN. Yes, not just Christmas presents, we had a bunch of non-Christmas wrapping paper as well. This event, whether wearing santa hats and holding posters or wrapping gifts with pretty paper and ribbon, proved to be equally fun for all!

DECEMBER DCM/OTC/POTLUCK ~ December 8, 2013 (2:30pm-5:30pm)

We started out with a Division Council Meeting and a few quick games and then proceeded to the Officer Training Conference and Potluck! At the Officer Training Conference, members were able to learn about the different officer positions in Key Club and the various duties and responsibilities attached to each position. Also, there was plenty of yummy food! Though the weather was much colder than expected, all members had a great time!

LETTERS TO SANTA ~ December 3-5, 2013 (Lunch)

In the quad at lunch on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, we held a Letters to Santa event. Each letter would in turn equal a dollar donated by Macy's to the Make-a-Wish Foundation, a Foundation that helps grant children with cancer or terminal illness their last wish. After three days of letter writing, we received more than 200 letters!

FALL RALLY SOUTH!!!! ~ November 9, 2013 (8:00am-6:30pm)

Fall Rally South. I cannot even begin to describe the amount of fun I had. Ask any of the members that went, and you will know just how amazing of a day we had. All the Key Clubs in southern California gathered at Magic Mountain for an awesome day of rides, free hugs, but most of all, the Rally session. We performed cheers as loudly and as synchronized as we could, and despite being the smallest Division in our session with a little over 200 people, we still achieved second place against many Divisions that brought over 500 people, and we missed first place by the slightest margin. Also during the Rally Session, we auctioned off the LTGs as a way to fundraise for PTP. Check out this awesome video of the event! Check out this awesome video of our division specifically! Also, an interview with the one and only Victoria Lai!

NOVEMBER DCM/SPIRIT NIGHT ~ November 2, 2013 (4:30pm-6:30pm)

Although the Division team canceled the October DCM, they made sure to make the November DCM just that much better. At Spirit Night, which followed the DCM, we learned the cheers for Fall Rally. I had so much fun learning all the cheers with the division and seeing how loud we could all be. But don't worry, we made sure not to lose our voices. I encourage you all to go to the DCMs as they are a great way to stay informed about the division and to gain ideas from what other Key Clubs in our division are doing. They are typically at Rancho Madera Community Park, 556 Lake Park Dr., Simi Valley, CA 93063 and are usually less than two hours, so it's not a huge time commitment.

HOPE OF THE VALLEY RESCUE MISSION ~ October 19, 2013 (6:00pm-9:00pm)

Though at first the site seemed extremely sketchy, the environment quickly improved. We began to set up beds and chairs, directed by volunteers that ran the Rescue Mission. After that, we helped file in people and direct them to beds and welcome them with a smile as others ran to the back to retrieve their bedding. Then we helped serve a delicious dinner that another volunteer group brought. This event proved to be extremely rewarding just to see how happy it made those people whom we helped, and we brought so many volunteers that setting up and serving dinner was completed nice and quickly.

REGION 10 TRAINING CONFERENCE ~ October 12, 2013 (11:00am-4:00pm)

Up in Santa Barbara, Divisions 42E, 42W, 24, and 29 all gathered for a Region Training Conference. I got to go to awesome workshops and meet really cool new people in our region. I also saw the amazing Victoria Lai, our District Governer there! As District Governer, Victoria is in charge of ALL the Key Clubs in ALL of California, Nevada, and Hawaii. As she is a Senior, this is happened to be her last Region Training Conference so having her come to ours definitely made the Conference worth it.

LEMONADE SALES! ~ October 3, 2013 (Lunch)

During lunchtime, in the middle of the quad, Key Club set up two tables to sell frozen lemonade. Though the morning temperature dipped down to nearly 65 degrees, as soon as lunch began, the sun came out, and the temperature rose up. Within minutes, the volunteers nearly began sweating. We donated the funds raised from this fundraiser to the eliMiNaTe project.

Money earned: $49

Volunteers: Karven Rodrigo, Neil Reed, Sara Wilson
